Guangdong Haid Group Co., Ltd. is a high-tech group enterprise primarily engaged in the research and production of aquaculture, livestock and poultry feed, seedlings, animal health products, large-scale breeding, and health food. The company successfully listed on the Shenzhen A-share market on November 27, 2009 (stock code: 002311).
After 19 years of rapid development, Haid has achieved substantial market scale and social benefits. It has become one of the fastest-growing, most technologically advanced, and best-serviced companies in China’s agricultural and livestock industry. Haid ranks third in feed sales in China and tenth globally. In 2016, the company achieved a revenue of 27.2 billion RMB, with over 20,000 employees.
Since its establishment, Haid's business has grown rapidly. The internal management was informal, humanized, and based on experience, which was no longer suitable for sustainable and stable development. Haid’s management team sought to leverage the expertise of a consulting firm to assess and plan the company’s current management levels and human resources system.
The project involved analyzing the current management situation, performing a systematic internal capability analysis, and planning the value chain. Benchmarking against industry leaders, the goal was to develop Haid's core capability development plan in feed production. The project aimed to fully review and design a human resources system based on the company’s strategy to improve internal capabilities, support sustainable growth, and enhance Haid's overall management level and core competitive strength.
The project was managed according to a structured project management methodology, adhering strictly to the project operation model and Best Management Consulting's project management processes. A project team was formed, consisting of both Haid Group personnel and consultants, and operated under a planned project timeline. The project followed four phases, with specific standards and requirements for each phase:
Initiation Phase:
Defining the project scope, objectives, and business requirements.
Understanding Phase:
The goal was to understand and familiarize with Haid Group’s existing operations. During this phase, a detailed diagnosis of the current situation was conducted. Benchmarking practices were introduced, and through workshops and communications, the next steps for improvement were identified. Consultants visited Haid’s subsidiaries nationwide, gathering data and conducting interviews while providing targeted training based on Haid’s needs.
Design Phase:
In this phase, a detailed system design was conducted, based on the improvement plans from the previous phase. The deliverables were meticulously broken down into templates, with over 140 deliverables in Haid's project design phase.
This phase focused on creating an implementation plan and organizing the project teams to begin executing pilot projects.
Core Competency Focus: Helped Haid Group focus on developing its core competencies and highlighting professional strengths.
Benchmarking Implementation: Introduced best practices to improve per capita efficiency.
